Thyroxeen 100mcg is a medicine that contains the active ingredient levothyroxine sodium. It is used to treat hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland) and to prevent goiter (enlarged thyroid gland) in people with an iodine deficiency. Levothyroxine sodium is a synthetic form of thyroxine (T4), which is a hormone produced by the thyroid gland. It works by replacing or providing more thyroid hormone, which is normally produced by the thyroid gland. Thyroxeen 100mcg is available in tablet form and should be taken orally once daily on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before breakfast.
